130 int’l movies to participate at Fajr Int’l Filmfest

A lineup of 130 international films is to vie in 12 sections of Fajr International Film Festival.

Out of a total of 160 movies at the event, 130 are non-Iranian movies which are to be screened in various sections.

Also 110 young filmmakers from 30 countries are in Iran to participate at workshops held on the sidelines of the 36th edition of the festival.

Established in 1982, the Fajr International Film Festival celebrates cultural exchange, displays creative achievements of highly acclaimed cineastes and pays tribute to local and international films.

Since its establishment, the Fajr International Film Festival has played a vital role in the development of Iranian Cinema.

Supervised by Iran’s Ministry of Culture, the festival hosts veteran directors and new filmmakers from Iran and across the world every year.

Directed by well-known Iranian director Reza Mirkarimi, 2018 edition of Fajr International Film Festival inaugurated on April 18 and will end on April27.
